Pilgrim’s Blessing in the City of St. Gallen

It is possible to receive a pilgrim’s blessing daily in St. Gallen Cathedral. On Sunday, also in the Protestant church of St. Laurenzen.

Practical procedure: no reservation necessary. At the beginning of the service, your backpack must be placed in front of the first pew as a sign for the priest/chaplain.

After the service, the priest/chaplain will issue an individual blessing.

The three pilgrimage paths in St.Gallen

Camino Santiago

From Munich or Augsburg to Bregenz or Lindau. From Bregenz via Rheineck to Rorschach. From Lindau by ferry to Rorschach.

Section 1 from Rorschach to St. Gallen. From there via Wattwil to Einsiedeln, Flüeli-Ranft, Interlaken, Fribourg, Geneva.

15 minutes by walking you need from the railway station of St.Gallen to the pilgrim hostel.

The route starts in Rorschach or St.Gallen and leads through Switzerland to Geneva.

It is through Switzerland is signposted as “Via Jacobi” with blue-green stickers on yellow signposts and the number 4.
